So I'll probably want to try OS X on here, but I'm not sure at all if it would even work on my setup. Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! So AMD, may already be in trouble. I'll probably be overclocking to 3.6GHz+ and trying to unlock the forth core. Newegg.com - PNY Optima 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model MD4096KD3-1333 - Desktop Memory DDR3 RAM, not sure what macs use to I don't know about that. Newegg.com - ASUS EAH3450 SILENT/DI/512MD2 Radeon HD 3450 512MB 64-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards Alright, here is the tough part, I'm CrossFiring the HD3450 with the onboard HD3300. It's an awesome money saver for a budget, to get 2x to 3x performance of just the IGP. The rest shouldn't really matter, so what are your thoughts? Would it be possible to get OS X running, and running with CrossFireX? AMD processors can do it, however they need a different kernel, and therefore are less mac like (doesn't really matter... only some perfectionists would lose sleep over it) and could break after a update. The most important part would be the mobo... As far as less mac like, as long as OS X runs at full speed with all features..It's perfect for me. Scottapotamas Posted July 14, 2009 Share Posted July 14, 2009 It should run full speed with all the features, however some may not work or need special attention depending on your hardware etc... eg, you may/will need to patch a update to go from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 because its a amd processor... Your video may break after an update, but certain methods prevent that...
