this n00b again
so for the past few days i have been failing miserably. let me explain. I have the first generation Lenovo s10. I tried following some guides i found online and i can't get past the first step. I have OS-X Leopard, LG slim USB external dvd-rw drive. So i put the disc in and tried to boot from disk, after setting bios to boot from usb dvd-rw i keep getting the message when booting "media check failure check cable". this disk should work. i just used it and the same dvd-rom and disk to reformat my macbook (broken super drive). So i tried swapping out the usb 2.0 cables to new usb 2.0 cables. still same error. So then i acquired another disk (from a friend) and tried that disk thinking there is something wrong with my disk. That had the same error. So i then proceeded to download carbon Copy cloner (CCC) and copied the DISK to a 8GB flash drive, tried to boot and that even failed. says "Pen Drive without Operating system. Remove Pen Drive and Reboot. PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable. exiting broadcom PXE ROM". I'm so lost. I don't understand what i am doing wrong. any help is appreciated. Thanks!
