garvey
Hi guys. I've been trying to install os x for a few days now and have hit nothing but brick walls. I first tried iATKOS v1.0r2 before I was aware that newer versions existed. I then tried iDeneb with the same results. Both of these would give the still waiting for root device error. I then found my way here and learnt that iATKOS v7 was available and downloaded it straight away. Now all that happens is it restarts nearly straight away after leaving the Darwin loader screen. The only flag that will get me any further is the cpus=1 flag. This however brings me full circle to waiting for root device error. The drive I'm trying to install to is separate(IDE) from my main Windows drive(SATA). The DVD drive is SATA. If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it as I'm dying to try out OS X. Below is a link to a gallery showing the message I receive with cpus=1 enabled as well as my available BIOS settings. If I leave this screen up for a while I then receive the still waiting for root message. http://img11.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=img0022cfc.jpg System Specs are PC: ACER Extensa e464 MB Chipset: MCP73PV (GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 @ 2.60GHz BIOS: AMI Hard Drives:Maxtor STM3160215A on IDE WDC WD64 00AAKS-22A7B on SATA DVD: ATAPI DVD A DH16A6S Lan: Nforce Networking Controller Display: OnBoard GeForce 7100 Thanks for your time guys.
