ocstony
me 2. I also cannot find AppleAC97Audio.kext on hardisk and installation DVD. I am also using "Apple.OS.X.x86.10.4.Generic.Install.DVD release". I think this release may have some problem. I am downloading another release "Mac OSX x86 generic install disc release1" see could solve the problem or not. Kanji_Man
I have found that if I use the Disk Utility to Correct file permissions accross the drive it will take care of all the chown and chmod commands when adding extensions. I'm sure most of use prefer the terminal window but i'm very lazy and find dropping things into folders then running the diskutil to be much easier and I hae yet to encounter a problem. Can anyone bring up an instance where this would eb a bad idea?
