UPDATE: Fixed the problem. If anyone is having similar problems as I was having, place your /Extra/Extensions/ folder in your Boot OS X volume (partition 3 of your first RAID drive).

I have searched but not found anyone talking about software RAID and this board. Has anyone successfully managed to run Software RAID on the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P? My board is working flawlessly right now running on a single drive, but using the software RAID method in the sticky (and aquamac's) and using Super Duper to clone my install to the RAID, I get HPET errors followed by a kernel panic from AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement. This kext is not a problem on my single drive, and if I remove it from the RAID install, the boot will hang instead of panic. Anyone run this board and software raid successfully and have some tips? I used to run hardware RAID on Vista and would really like to run my Raptors in RAID here on OSX.

Thanks,

Chris

maybe this....

That is the guide I followed, but I was having kernel panics with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement and if I deleted that, it would just not load the loginwindow.app. However....

Figured it out! I needed to put my Extra folder in my Boot OS X volume (for me, disk0s3). I used the pause button on my keyboard during the initial boot to see if it was loading my Extensions, and it was not. This is why I had the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement kernel panic, and if I deleted that, it would just not load the login window. Additionally, I had to use DSDT Patcher GUI to place a dsdt.aml file in my Boot OS X volume. For anyone having trouble like mine, at least for me, the /Extra/Extensions/ folder would not be loaded when placed in the main RAID volume, only in the Boot OS X volume.
