So, I have 10.5.7, using iAtkos distribution. I also have Vista. I want them both.

I found this topic - http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vista_Dual_Boot, however it was somewhat complicated. And there's nothing written about chameleon 2, nor was i able to google it.

So, i did this -

Booted osx86, entered disk utils, partitioned the disk to two equal partitions, one hfs+ journaled, second fat. Set it to GUID disk.

I didn't install iatkos. Yet. Instead, after partitioning i exit it, and install vista on the second partition (vista partitioner shows that there are four patitions, in order, approx - 200 mb, 120gb, 150mb, (Here in install vista) 120gb. First three parts are, what i assume, free space for vista's installer.

After installing vista, i boot my pc with osx86 disc, and install it on the hfs partition, and i install it with chameleon 2.

EDIT: Fixed it, however a new problem appeared.

Ok, with the help of a colleague of mine i got it solved with quite nifty windows application called easybce.

However, a new problem appeared -

Before i did anything on my main hdd, i tried everything on my older, spare hdd. I noticed that when i switched hdd's, the pc would boot like this - it will show the BIOS screen, then it would flash vista's loading screen/ mac os's apple splashscreen, then it would reboot by itself, then it would load ok.

Now, as i have two systems on one disk, the problem still appears - when i choose one system, it would have the boot-reboot-boot cycle, then untill i decide to run the second system it would boot normally every time i switch the pc on. Switching systems is, therefore, a pain in the a**, as the boot-reboot-boot, although takes mere half a minute, is somewhat annoying.

What's the reason for this odd behaviour? And, how to fix it?

The laptop is samsung q210, the specification is listed here - http://www.trustedreviews.com/laptops/revi...o-2-Notebook/p5

Am i not giving enough information? Or it's like, the problem has been already solved, and i shall search for it?

If first, then please, tell me what information to say, if second, then my search-fu is weak and i can't find it on this forum or through google.

Anyway, please, help me.

Use Chameleon v1. I couldn't dual boot OSX86 with Windows 7 using Chameleon v2 but v1 worked with no problems, it depends on your PC but maybe you should give it a try.

Nope, didn't work.

I can't see where exactly it reboots, as booting with -v shows that it runs to the some point, and it reboots after the "regents of california" message is written to the display. two, three, four lines after 'regents' message it reboots, but i can't pinpoint where exactly it happens.
