I have a Compaq Presário CQ 60-153 with a AMD Athlon X2 QL-60 Dual-Core 1.9Ghz Processor,

Video Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G,

Hard Drive 160GB (5400RPM)

Multimedia Drive LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support,

Display 15.6" Diagonal High Definition HP BrightView Display (1366x768)

My motherboard is a wistron 303C

 

My disk is partioned, i have windows 7 an linux on him but i have a free partition of 40gb in raw, my problem is when i put the installation DVD iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 it just don't install, the dvd stops spin and on the screen after i put the option -v it says"Loading HFS+FILE:[/system/Library/Extensions.mkert] from 4230a80", and if i touch the mouse it reboots.

Could it be from the distribution?

Wich one hould you recomend? if there is one...

Try the next:

 

I warn you to make backup of ALL your importan files you dont want to lose.

1st.- Format your 40gb free HD from the OSX DVD (Mac OS Extended - Journaled) and then try to install MacOS X

 

2nd.- If that fails, try to burn the image at 2x (It may sound pointless but you have nothing to lose).

 

3th.- If everything I said fails, there are other distros such as iDeneb, iPC (wich Im using), and Kalyway (I think I typed it right) between others, read about your hardware components in the forum and try to find a better alternative.

 

I strongly believe that the 1st option is "fail free."
