xanau Posted July 4, 2009 Share Posted July 4, 2009 I have a Compaq Presário CQ 60-153 with a AMD Athlon X2 QL-60 Dual-Core 1.9Ghz Processor, Video Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G, Hard Drive 160GB (5400RPM) Multimedia Drive LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support, Display 15.6" Diagonal High Definition HP BrightView Display (1366x768) My motherboard is a wistron 303C My disk is partioned, i have windows 7 an linux on him but i have a free partition of 40gb in raw, my problem is when i put the installation DVD iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 it just don't install, the dvd stops spin and on the screen after i put the option -v it says"Loading HFS+FILE:[/system/Library/Extensions.mkert] from 4230a80", and if i touch the mouse it reboots. Could it be from the distribution? Wich one hould you recomend? if there is one... Davirus Posted July 5, 2009 Share Posted July 5, 2009 Try the next: I warn you to make backup of ALL your importan files you dont want to lose. 1st.- Format your 40gb free HD from the OSX DVD (Mac OS Extended - Journaled) and then try to install MacOS X 2nd.- If that fails, try to burn the image at 2x (It may sound pointless but you have nothing to lose). 3th.- If everything I said fails, there are other distros such as iDeneb, iPC (wich Im using), and Kalyway (I think I typed it right) between others, read about your hardware components in the forum and try to find a better alternative. I strongly believe that the 1st option is "fail free."
