macintoshy
Hi there, just planing to make OSX much faster with a new board and processor. Due to some hardware lists on the main page, I decided to get board with Intel chipset 945G. http://www.aopen.nl/products/mb/i945Ga-PLF.htm The ITE IDE ports will not work, but I do not know if any other hardware components will work, too. Does the firewire Aegere chip work with osx86? Will the Azalia 7.1 channel codec on-board (ALC880) work? Need only 2 channel in and out. Does anybody have this board and testet it so far with Jas 10.4.6? Dee S. 73
the Asus P5LD2-V is a good choice too..... Pentium D 805 is the best buy today... clocks easily over 3,4 Ghz to 4,0 with good (water) cooling Just my 2 cents DS_73 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17332-hardware-hint-aopen-i945ga-plf/#findComment-111932 Share on other sites
macintoshy
Sure, the d805 is my choice too, cheepest dual core CPU ever, but I like the energy saving feature of the Aopen Board very much. It will slow down the CPU when it's not used.
