Ownage1100
The OSx86 cd that I have is an iPC 10.5.6. That is all I know about the CD. I was able to load it up and boot into mac on my HP laptop, but not my Dell Inspiron 1525. Anyway with that being said I want to build a PC with that disc. Looking at the HCL list, the best supported motherboard for the iPC 10.5.6 seems to be the Intel DP43FT with the Intel P43\ICH10 chipset. That specific motherboard from intel is EXPENSIVE! I buy my stuff from a wholesaler and the compatible model they had was an ECS P43T-A2. This motherboard hsa the same Intel P43\ICH10 Chipset. Since the chipsets are the same, I would assume them to be compatible. Will the fact that this is an ECS board 3rd party knockoff and not an Intel one casue any conflicts with the iPC disc? The iPC disc seems to load on a lot of things (just not my Dell). Any sugestions, comments? Please clarify this for me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173280-ipc-1056-ecs-motherboard/ Share on other sites
