jhol7
I have installed iPC 10.5.6 on my Dell Inspiron 1501 but so far I have not been able to get the DVD drive to work, obviously it worked during installation, but it doesn't work once I'm running off the new install. The DVD drive is a TSSTcorp DVD+/-RW TS with a VIA SATA controller (which works for the HD). Anyone have any idea what I need to install? Thanks! masterb403
Hey man, I'm having no luck getting iatkos or iPC on my 1501, I'm getting iDeneb tonight and was wondering if you could tell me which kexts you used at setup to get yours working properly? Mine installs typically, but on the reboot I just get a kernel panic and it doesn't boot, with or without flags. Thanks! try my ioatafamily.kext in attachments... Or try to install Ideneb 10.5.6.. treminaor
Still Waiting for root device means it needs a defferent kext for your particular SATA/IDE controller. What brand of motherbaord and SATA/IDE controller are you trying to use, and what interface do your DVD and HD use? (SATA or IDE) As far as getting back on topic, I have the exact same DVD drive as you, and used the exact same distribution as you. The only thing I had to do was use MeDevil's AppleNforceATA_TEST kext to get mine to work. Lt. Xenodite
I have a TSSTcorp drive on SATA, might be the same one. Using a vanilla install with replaced system.kext and seatbelt.kext.
