Dojomann
Hi all, I've done as the thread title states, Specs are as follows: intel core i7 920 @3.2 Ghz 6 gb ddr3 ram asus p6t deluxe v2 marvell yukon 88e8056 onboard LAN vanilla kernel 9.7.0 Geforce gtx 275 896mb Everything works great, (after some fooling around I even got shutdown/standby/restart working fine, and rid myself of the orange sata icons) Anyways, I can access my windows computers over the network via manual connection (smb://192.168.0.107 works just fine) but none of the computers are showing up by themselves in network in finder. I've tried setting up a new location, putting in the workgroup, WINS name, turning firewall off, stealth mode on/off, etc. The windows computer can see this hackintosh just fine. (oddly however it shows up as "Andreis-Mac" in my router settings.. Not ANDREI-MAC like I set it up in WINS...) [router is a D-Link WBR-2310 with 1.05 firmware) Am I missing something? What gives? This is literally the LAST thing I want working properly... after this (minus front panel jack detection) it will be "perfect". Dojomann
I just checked in system profiler, and no matter what I do, or which locations I duplicate the IPv6 configuration is stuck on Automatic in system profiler... Any way to change this? force it somehow to 'off'? Dojomann
If you get reboots while trying to boot the installer there's two things you can do (and as fas as I can tell there is no difference in the end result): either boot with the flags: busratio=20 maxmem=2048 -v this ensures that the kernel understands the frequency that your CPU is running at (the first flag) and avoids any kernel panics during installation if you have an amount of ram over 6gb (the second flag). The third is just verbose to see what's happening during loading. OR mach_970 maxmem=2048 -v same as above, except this time we're substituting telling the default loaded kernel (voodoo 9.5.0) the cpu ratio with loading the voodoo 9.7.0 kernel which understands it just fine either way. both ways should work. Also, if after install you get a "still waiting for root device" try changing your SATA mode to non-AHCI and set that to "compatible" instead of "enhanced". I don't know why but after a successful boot into the kernel you can change it back to AHCI. Once you get it all installed, I'd like to know if you have the same issue as me EDIT: Also, to anyone else out there: I STILL am also having a reboot/shutdown issue. I can do it normally, but only if I haven't put the computer into S3 standby during the session. I've tried OpenHaltRestart.kext and it makes no difference. I have it working, network didn't show other computers at first, but does now, just played with network setting and stuff then it just appeared. "Dell 1520"+Nvidia 8600m GT+T7300+BCM94321MC Broadcom(had to install this)+Sound works(didn't check mic yet) = All Drivers On "OSX 10.5.7 iATKOS_v7" By Default, to killer!!
