There seems to be a complete lack of reliable information on how I should go about actually making my JaS installation DVD. I have tried literally every single DVD burning utility suggested to me, and none have been capable of it. Nero required that I already have the boot image burned onto media to copy from; it wouldn't allow me to simply specify a .iso file on the hard disc. Magic ISO told me the 4.37 GB .iso file was too large for it to load, and several other programs were just impenetrable to me.

Basically what I'm asking is if anyone knows of a simple, step-by-step guide to burning a bootable ISO image to a DVD for someone who has no idea what they're doing. I know I've done this before installing Linux Fedora years ago, and I justdon't understand why I suddenly can't figure it out this time.

Thanks in advance.

Man...if your problems with mac os x start here it means it probably get even foggy on the way to installing it...and then after to make the things working with the right patches (kexts)...keeping the right patches if you want to ever make the ultimate step and bring all the system to the latest version (build) and security updates...'cause you will need that if you want to run some programs that just won't install if they not see that your system is the right version or to trick them to think the system is that version or higher...

So...if this has been said...lets see...

If your os is xp...i assume this 'cause you didn't specified...do this...

1. Download poweriso and install it (the registered version)...

2. Restart...('cause it will ask...)...

3. Get a blank dvd and insert it in the dvd-rom...

4. Go to the JaS dvd .iso (you'll see that the icon is a gold disc now) and right-click on it and click burn...

5. Select the speed etc...click verify disk before or during...it doesn't matter...and wait it to burn...

6. Exit program...after it finishes...restart...

7. Enter bios and select first boot device...cd...save and exit...

8. Boot the dvd...

That's it...to begin with...you'll find that's just the easy part...

Thanks for the help and the concern, however I found out what the actual problem was. My DVD drive is simply broken. I considered buying a new one, but I have several old IDE hard drives lying around, and I think I'm just going to try using one of those instead of a DVD.
