Boot: Commands Cause Reboot During Installation

After entering the command(s) at boot: prompt, the vmware machine (VMWare Workstation 6.5) keeps rebooting. I cannot progress any further to get to the Disk utilities as to partition the virtual disk for MAC OSX.

I've tried from boot:

"Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32" -v & "-x platform=APCI"

The CD-ROM is set to boot of ISO image (full retail of leopard).

How do I get the installation to progress further without it rebooting after entering the commands?
