Ecstasy_2
Hello, I am new at this forum and have tried to solve my problem with the search function but I could not manage it. So I started a new topic. Firstly, my PC Hardware: Motherboard: MSI P6N SLI CPU: Intel E6750 RAM: 2x1 GB DDR-2 RAM (800 MHz) Graphics: ATI Sapphire HD 3870 WLAN-Card: Hercules Wireless PCI HWGPCI-54 I could install Kalyway 10.5.2 using this this guide with slightly changed settings. My install settings: Fonts: left as default Additional Languages: German Kernel: kernel_92_nforce ONLY Graphics: no driver seleced Audio: left as default Network: default plus forcedeth Mobo_Chipset: left as default Third Applications: left as default Patches: all unselected AMD Patches: all unselected Then I could boot the OS using the -x parameter (without parameter I get only a screen like this: Then I installed the Kalyway 10.5.3 Update (no new kernel selected). Unfortunately I had different problems as I used the -x parameter: - no sound - small resultion - my Onboard LAN was not detected (I didn't the WLAN card to be detected at all) --> no internet So I tried to install the ATI driver from this page. Then it was strange: Two times (I've installed the whole OS about 5 times yet) I could install the driver and restart one time with full 1920x1080 resolution and without using the -x parameter. But if i booted the second time I had only a black screen after the white Apple booting screen. "-x" does not help, the screen is still black after the booting screen. The other times the screen was already black at the first reboot, again -x does not help, I had to reinstall the whole OS. The two times I could start without -x audio worked and my ethernet device was detected. It was shown that I have an ethernet connection but the internet didn't work. Perhaps I have not yet the perfect driver for my onboard LAN. Here my questions: How can I install the graphics driver for the HD 3870 correctly? Where can I get a working driver for my onboard LAN or do I only have to change the LAN-settings? Is there any driver for my WLAN-card for Kalyway? Thank you!
