Haze295
Hey guys, I have read about 14 different posts across the board about using an Airport Express Mini pci-e and there was information scattered in all of them but nothing that could really answer my questions... Hopefully someone can help me out. 1.have an Intel4965 and read that using the Broadcom 4321 (ABG draft N) I could use it as a stock Airport card (which would be fantastic). Is that the correct model with 10.5+ with stock drivers and Draft N capabilities (have a Aiport extreme router). 2. Whitelists? I have no idea on how to check if I'm running BIOS or EFI. When I talked to Gateway they said I would have no problem switching to another card. Is there a way I can tell if my current card is locked under EFI or Bios requirements (didn't know how to put it but see if they are only allowing that card). 3. I have also heard that some PCI-e's aren't recognized or only one of the two (if you have them). I have two ports on mine and was hoping I could just keep the Intel in place and use the other slot. Is there a way I can see if those slots are recognized by OSX? 4. I checked and found my card right now has a 1, 2 , 3 antenna setup and the Broadcom only has a 2 wire setup. I was wondering which wires actually have to be used on the Broadcom? I only found one forum discussing this and it was an arguement on which ones actually were used. Any help is greatly appreciated.
