opticledilusi0n
I've used search and tried all suggestions to make AC97 sound work... tried macgirl's kext... tried putting my vendor and device id into original kext and into hers... still no sound unfortunately my notebook has an ESS 1988 card build into it. 0x1988125D is the complete id 0x125D is for vendor ESS and 0x1988 is device id for ESS1988 Chipset - Allegro PCI Audio Device (WDM) claims are that this is AC97 Compliant... I've looked at the ALSA drivers that loads for Linux... and sure enough it is listed as using the AC97 Codec. I was wondering if / how to possibly recompile a BSD driver for this card to a kext for OSx or perhaps am I overlooking something stupid?
