Hi.

I decided to register here as I am at my wits end as far as trying to get Leo up and running on The above Desktop a HP Pavillion a6030la

It has from what I can gather an ASUS OEM motherboard code P5LP-LE (Leonite) mothernoard running Phoenix Bios. I cannot find a manufacturers Bios Flash and have set the Sata mode to AHCI controlled having tried with IDE - also unsuccesfully.

I have a genuine Leo Install which I bought to upgrade the tiger install that came with my iMac - Intel 24"

So far I have tried the Generic.Iso/Genuine Leo method... which starts the install routine with the leo disk... but hangs every time about a minute into the install.... Even if this methood were to install succesfully - every attempt I have tried to patch the genuine.iso loader with kexts as detailed in this article http://www.infinitemac.com/f19/howto-insta...r-retail-t2712/ have failed - despite following the terminal prompts and instruction to the letter.

In all I tried this 5 times 3 with Toast and twice with Macs Burn Folder having merged the files - and none of the cd's were bootable...

The other method I have tried so far is by using Kalyway 10.5.1 which sometimes does (apparently) install the os and more often crashes and prompts a reboot. Whenever it does seem to install I alwats get a cannot find boot.plist message and despite finding an article relating to repairing the boot loader for mac - it did absolutely nothing

I am currently downloading Kalyway 10.5.2 to see if that is any better and also iAtkos v7 which is taking an eon to come down.

Again I have found a thread relating to a JMicron patch for the Kalyway instal - mentions a windows package that includes an .exe (fat lot of use in my case). I did however find a chameleon patch in pkg form but nowhere can I find instructions for the mac way.

I have one clean drive formatted as GUID 450GB Mac OS Extended and want one os only on it - Namely Leo

Can anyone tell me what is preventing me from installing succesfully (apart from the fact that it is a HP, I know! I know!) and how exactly I hould proceed.

I will be trying these 2 as they come down but I have already gopt a nice set od CD Coasters and a few DVD ones from the exercise in question. Cheap as they are these days I really cannot afford to waste media indefinitely

Thanks in advance

MonkeyC_MonkeyDu (and thats exactly what I did to arrive at this nice collection of coasters)
