Rav99
Hi. Having very recently bought a Lite-On BLU-RAY ROM IHOS104-37 and plugging it into one of the 2 spare sata ports on the motherboard, I've been following the instructions under your forum on getting the drive recognised under Vista Ultimate. I have an original Mac Pro 5150 Chipset, Vista Ultimate and Mac OSX partition. Unfortunately, I have not had the drive at all seen by my Vista Ultimate. The instructions I attempted are as follows. 2b. Vista only - Run Regedit - Navigate to "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci" - edit the "Start" key and change the value from what it is to "0" - this will tell Vista to check for AHCI on next boot and install the AHCI driver if it is in AHCI mode Restarted in Mac OSX, then: Run johnsock's script in "Terminal" under 'sudo' mode. Unfortunately, after "Scanning" for drives (presumably for partitions containing Vista) the scan just seems to freeze on "Scanning drives...". I have also attempted to update the driver within Vista for 2680 (ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller) with 2681 which I searched for under properties (via Device Manager), but this simply was not available amonst the list of Intel drivers. Attempting to install Intel Matrix Storage Drivers on Vista also fails to install. I am wondering whether to try something called Grub Bootloader. If anyone can suggest something or tell me where I could be going wrong I would be very grateful. Thanks.. Ravinder. Rav99
Finally found and got my ahci 1.0 driver to recognise a BDROM drive on my sata port. However, I was trying to install the Intel Matrix Storage Driver program but it comes up with the following error: "The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". This is preventing me from installing later driver than AHCI 1.0, which is not allowing me to play my dvd's. Any suggestions please? Ravinder. Hi.
