Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500A ATA Device not detected

Hi all,

 

I have a Optiarc BD ROM BC-5500A ATA Device for a HP DV6920ea laptop

 

Here are the laptop's Specs.

 

The system profiler does not detect the device at all and have had problems trying to find BD-Rom drivers. Any ideas where I can find the drivers/get the device to become detectable? I'm new to mac so go easy on me!

2GHZ Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor

3GB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8400m GS (256MB dedicated)

Hard Drive 250GB

Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD-+R/RW

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection <-- If anyone knows if that is developed yet please post.

Fixed. Downloaded and installed AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext. Correct drive detected and installed.

Tested with and CDs and DVDs (reading and writing ok)

 

Blu-ray discs read fine however there still doesn't seem to be any Apple support for the reading of Bluray films as of yet (fingers crossed for VLC).
