Jayderyu
First I apologize for putting my first post in the gaming forum. In hindsight it should be in the hardware. I thought a few days may have a admin moving it, that didn't happen. I've gone off reading numerous articles trying to determine wich chip is better. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Here are the components. I'm just not sure wich Intel or AMD listed would be better. DVD: Pioneer DVR-111D Black DVD-RW 16X6X16 DVD+RW 16X8X16 DL 8X IDE OEM DVD Burner RAM: Samsung 512mb DDR Intel route CHIP: Intel Celeron D 326 2.53GHZ LGA775 Prescott 256K L2 Cache 533FSB 90NM EM64T MOBO: ASUS P5P800SE LGA775 865PE DDR AGP SATA Sound GBLAN Motherboard AMD route CHIP: AMD Sempron 64BIT 2500+ Processor S754 Palermo 1.4GHZ 256K L2 Cache 90NM SSE3 MOBO: Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M mATX S754 K8M800 DDR AGP SATA Video Sound LAN I will be getting the componented by next friday, but I need to order the Gigabyte mobo. I would so much appriciate it. go intel and make sure you can overclock on the mobo, SSE3 is nice, try not to go AGP (PCIe is far better), and see if you can move up to something with a GMA950 or at least a 900 as they are really the only safe bet for graphics right now. Finally look up both mobo's in the HCL, you maybe unpleasently suprised if the sound does not work, or the LAN or something, don't be caught with your pants down. blinksilver
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813186074 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813157086 both of these are better investment of your money, although check the other components, sound, lan etc. and its not just this, anything ICH7 will probably do you good. of course with the bottom one you need a PCI express videocard, but the top one has a GMA950 : ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17230-this-is-a-tough-choice/#findComment-111632 Share on other sites
Jayderyu
I should have mentioned i'm from Canada. I already have a AGP card. I will take a look into looking for that motherboard. Thanks for the suggestions. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17230-this-is-a-tough-choice/#findComment-112424 Share on other sites
