So, I am the type of lame-o that learns half of everything about computers and lets his uber-genius friends deal with all the dirty super-techie stuff. I also don't feel that bad about it because a. I don't have the time to learn it all, and b. they tend to enjoy it. That being said I'll give you the lowdown. Late last year I purchased a computer for use, on the road, as a mobile dj setup and, at home, as a digital audio workstation. Up until recently I have had constant help from a friend of mine with getting os x working on my PC. He now has been working quite frequently and has far less time to help me but there are a couple problems with my shutdown/start-up and I have no idea where to start trying to fix them. At first it was just at shutdown that problems would occur, my monitor would turn off and my computer would stay on. Then recently I installed 8G of ram, now when I start the computer it freezes on the blue screen just after the grey apple screen and doesn't make it to my desktop unless I restart. any advice will help

I am running iPC(I believe) Leopard 10.5.6 on an AMD 64 X2 6000+ CPU on a ASUS M3N78 Pro MB with 8G of kingston HyperX 1066 DDR2.
