HackBook Pro
I have Intel HDA Audio (8086:293e), and I was wondering if there was a way to be able to use surround sound. According to the Realtek HD Audio Manager in Windows, I have the ALC888 codec. I use VoodooHDA, and when I play something (in stereo) it sends it to all of my speakers. This means the driver can communicate to each of my speakers. In Audio MIDI Setup is only shows the 'Unknown' device as a 2-ch output, not a 6-ch output. How can I get 6-ch output (actual surround) on my Intel HDA, and still keep the effect where it plays a stereo audio file on all speakers (virtual surround)? And why does VoodooHDA make my sound card appear as 'Unknown'? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/172153-intel-hda-audio/ Share on other sites
