Hi all,

I am trying to install from a DMG image of OS X 10.5.6 retail using Boot-132. I assumed the easiest way to do this was burning (from Windows 7 on my new Core i7 system - I am Mac-less since my MBP became afflicted with the nvidia issue) the DMG to a DL DVD-R. However, it appears - using Transmac - that the expanded DMG is just a little too big to fit on the DVD, which I assume is exactly how Apple intended it.

So I am searching for other (expedient) solutions. I have tried converting the expanded image to a UIF using MagicCD such that it will fit. No luck from Boot-132 (EBIOS Read Error: Device Timeout). I get a similar response burning the expanded image to a USB hard drive and a 16GB flash drive, both of which can be used in any solution you guys may think of.

Additionally, I have the 2.5" hard drive from laptop, in the exact state it left my laptop (which I didn't want to give to Apple with the drive lest I end up losing all my data). So far, efforts to boot into that have failed also, although I'm a little confused with all these hex codes.

So does anyone have any ideas? Assuming I can't burn the DMG of retail 10.5.6 to a DL DVD-R given that its slightly too big (I do have one DL DVD-R left if anyone has a solution), from Windows, are there any other ways to get Mac OS running using one or all of what I have available: a 16GB flash drive, USB hard drive and/or my MacBook Pro's hard drive with 10.5 installed (and all the data I need - I was going to transfer all this once OS X was installed and could see the Mac-formatted drive).

Many thanks in advance!

Chris
