So I want to get value on my money dont have to be at the cutting edge.

I managed to buy the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P so that will be my motherboard

another question hdmi and dvi in the 9600gt, are they equal for HD movies

You can use both DVI and HDMI for HD video playback. However, you should make sure your graphics adapter supports HDCP through these outputs (copyright protection). I don't think there is any manufacturer in the graphics market that is "rubbish". Buy whatever suits your budget best.

No it doesn't matter for compatibility, (except ddr2 goes in ddr2 mobo, ddr3 in ddr3 etc) it's juste a matter of speed.

Besides, there isn't much differencess between ddr2 and ddr3, so don't let that bother you.

For graphics cards it doesn't influence compatibility either.

Good luck, it's fun stuff to play with, and MacOS is in general a nice experience once it's running :(

yes my first hackintosh acer one is quite nice but I want some more power for a small amount of money.

10 minutes ago I bought

512MB ASUS Silent GeForce 9600GT, I hope this is Ok, I buy the items at ebay, may be risky to get bad parts, but it is half the prize I think...=) 48 dollars and the motherboard 61 dollar,

Can you give me some advise about the amount of memory needed and recommended memory for me, it will be my nex purchase.

Yes, but as a newbie, the graphic card doesnt matter if it is ddr2 or ddr3, and the ram memory should be ddr2

correct?

Correct. The graphic card memory can be either GDDR2 or GDDR3 (just to clarify).

I find that about double the amount of GDDR2 roughly equals half the amount of GDDR3 for performance- IE: a card with 512MB of GDDR3 will perform roughly the same as a card with 1GB GDDR2, and so on.

Thank you zaap.

Just bought a Corsair HX450W. I think it's not sold in the US, but it's great stuff, modular, looking great and very quiet, maybe not as much as the Enermax, but it's not the same price either and the Corsair Warranty is 7 years! Plus, it's more than enough power for any rig with a single GPU and many drives.

Extrastrong, I got an EP45-UD3P too yesterday, and I would recommand you to do a retail install using this guide:

If you follow exactly the instructions, starting from the bios settings, it'll work great. You may have to update the bios to F8 or F9 to get full compatibility. Mine was F7 and Mac OS was a little buggy.
