ToH x86 will not recognize my hard drive

not in the spot where you are supposed to select where to install or the disk utillity space

it shows the Toh disk and some other disk and neather can be partitioned or erased

That is a very old release...

What is your southbridge chipset?

Doesn't matter in this case because if the disks appear in the installer, that means his Southbridge chipset is supported.

The problem is that the disks are formatted with NTFS or some other file system.

He needs to run Disk Utility and format the target HDD with HFS+J before he can install to it.

thank you i will try this but since that os is out of date would u think that another up to date one would do better?

That depends on your hardware. If it is well supported by the ToH DVD you should be fine.

If it's more recent, for example if your motherboard has P45 and ICH10 chipset, you should use something newer.
