tophfisher
Hi All, I am very close to pulling the trigger on a custom built Core i7 Hackintosh for Final Cut editing. I'd really like to go as legit as possible with Boot123 and a vanilla kernel. I don't know much and I read conflicting things regarding my Mother Board and Video card choice. Anyone out there actively using a OSx86 machine with a GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5? Also worried about my choice of video card, it's a EVGA GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB PCI Express card. I read the 8800GTS series is suppose to be a slam dunk, but then I read that the G92 based 8800GTS cards don't work? Hoping some of you might have used this hardware and can confirm if it does or does not work, if you have good experiences I'll be ordering my new system! I put my whole build in a wishlist you can check out there, comments very welcome: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWi...tNumber=7046569 -Chris UPDATE: based on searching, more and more threads make me think I should go with the GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard, I had the UD4P Gigabyte before... everdone
Take a look at Digital Dreamers thread in Tutorials forum. There are a large number of people who have had success with the UD5 and UD4 boards. I have the UD3R board and it works with no problem. There is 90 odd pages to his thread to date, there are a number of different video cards that have been used.
