Fred Wilson
So, I used some GRUB-DFE bootloader CD from somewhere and installed 10.5.1 and updated to 10.5.7 retail on a Core 2 Quad (Vanilla). I installed Chameleon 2.0 to the EFI partition. Then I used gfxutil and added a graphics string for my 9800 GT to com.apple.Boot.plist in /Volumes/EFI/Extra. The graphics work fine and are fast, as well as supporting QE/CI and all that. Both DVI ports work as well. I just can't figure out the sound. Is it just me or is there limited documentation on this? I have a patched AppleHDA for ALC889a (EP45-UD3P), HDAEnabler, and ALCInject. I place them in /Volumes/EFI/Extra/Extensions, but nothing seems to work. I tried using EFI strings, but I got a kernel panic and had to boot with the GRUB disk and fix the boot.plist file. I looked inside the AppleHDA I was using and it was patched by Taruga's AppleHDA patcher (which is good, right?). Can someone please help me before I go insane? Khan_Man
You might want to try VoodooHDA.kext. It isn't perfect but it has got sound out going on anything I've tried it on. It also has a Preferences Pane if U want more control over voodooHDA. http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html Khan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171906-chameleon-20-efi-partition-applehda/#findComment-1183556 Share on other sites
