Hey,

I'm about to install iPC osx86 on my dell studio 1535 laptop, I know which drivers to install etc following a guide but i am slightly worried about the SMBIOS? What is SMBIOS? Will it overwrite my current BIOS? and will it prevent me from using windows again? Any help is much apreciated.

Thanks

I also keep getting stuck at Kernel Version: Darwin kernal version 9.5.0: date etc etc

SMBIOS stands for System Management BIOS.

OS X has trouble reading information (CPU speed, RAM type.....etc) from our BIOS because it's made for EFI. We use drivers (kexts) that inject fake/real information to OS X to make up for the missing information. Nothing will touch your BIOS.
