Amacx86
So, I've been trying to install iDeneb 10.5.6 on my Homebuilt AMD system. My specs are: MSI K9A2+ v.2 Platinum mainboard AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core @ 2.6mhz 4 x 1gb DDR800 RAM WD 1TB SATA hard drive Pioneer ATA DVD R/RW Drive ATI 4000 series PCI-x video card I downloaded the distro burned it to DVD and set the machine to boot with -v -x parameters. I get the firewire error and eternal hang on "waiting for root" error that others have reported. Changing RAID mode to ACHI in the Bios (or even disabiling SATA entirely and just trying to get the thing to boot) makes no difference in how far I get. I've tried booting an older iAtkos installer also using -v - x, and it hangs on the PS/2 mouse input (so at a different place), but also won't load the installer. Today I'm going to buy a USB mouse and see if I can get any further with it. Any recommendations on what to try next? I really don't know a thing about Linux.
