moogrado
Well, my curiosity got the best of me... I bought a Psystar. They offer a dual boot config, for which they charge $75 to configure, $100 for the HDD, and also whatever crazy amount Windows costs. I figured it would be cheaper to set up myself. I'm wondering if anyone has experience setting up an OS X/Windows XP dual boot Psystar system using two internal HDDs. I have both operating systems installed on the drives, but they don't tend to play nice together when both hard drives are connected. If not, any info on how to configure grub 2 to recognize both HDD's and OS's would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch. Ijon Tichy
... well, this is a bit late, but.... I did a dual boot system myself as well with xubuntu on the second hard drive. One trick: I physically disconnected the original ox drive before running the xubuntu install. worked like a charm without any hiccups. Then at boot time press F12 and select which drive to boot from. Turns out disconnecting the os x drive is ciritcal as xubuntu or ubuntu for that matter might want to install grub2 into the wrong drive as is the case with the current release of ubuntu 10.4 :-( (yes, the bug is supposedly fixed, but repositories still have the buggy iso's ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171758-psystar-grub-2-boot-loader/#findComment-1470775 Share on other sites
