Okay, so I've been reading nonstop about this Boot 132 thing which I never fully understood. I know what it does and I know how to do it, but I've tried 5(!) different Boot 132 discs, and each one panics at some point. I need one for my motherboard specifically. I *know* I can make my own, but all the guides seem to tell me that I need OSX running to do that, which I don't have. Also, I'll honestly probably break something if I do it.

So I ask you, InsanelyMac, could someone PLEASE make me a Boot 132 disc with the following kexts in it?

My motherboard is an eVGA 680i (122-CK-NF68)

* Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernel

* Seatbelt.kext

* nForceATA(TEST) It *HAS* to be the test/latest experimental one because thats why the generic one failed.

* Azalia Audio

* nForceLAN (by Eno)

* SMBIOS Hardcoded to 667mhz DDR2 (I dunno the exact name of this .kext.

*Thank you* for your patience with n00bs (and with me in IRC, I know you were probably all laughing :D)

A boot 132 disc may seem like the easiest way to go, but may I ask what all OS X "distros" you have tried? I feel your pain with the 680i, I've got a BFG 680i that I have 10.5.7 Server installed on; it's currently my whole house audio/file/network server for my home network. Anyways, the only disc I had much success with is the iPC beta disc patched up through PPF5, which may be the final PPF for that disc; not sure.

If you haven't tried it yet, give iPC a try; it worked great for me, I think it was the only disc that recognized my hard drive and dvd drive. (I used a SATA dvd drive and an IDE hard drive)

Keep us updated.

I tried that one and oddly enough it installed PERFECTLY. However, no matter what I did I couldn't get it to boot. At all. EasyBCD, Arconis, Vista's loader, nothing.

It should be noted that I tried to make my own boot 132 disk but when I burned it, it rapidly looped a checksum error which I couldn't bypass (and could hardly read)

I just want this to work, preferably retail because I just think it's nicer and "cleaner" that way, but at this point I'll take anything I can get.

why you didn't try boot using chameleon 2 to install retail... much more easy for me

Just install chameleon on your USB Flashdisk and add kext you need to extra folder...

boot with your USB Flasdisk and choose your retail DVD and ready to go .. :)

after install... boot with USB Flashdisk again and install chameleon to retail hdd or partion

not : if you like MBR you shoul patch OSInstall.mpkg first

sorry my poor english

Wouldn't you need to have a fully working boot132 disk to do that?

Also, it should be said that my OSX partition comes "after" my windows one, and that it's a primary, active partition with a boot flag, and yet for some reason it just WILL not boot.

Could it be the Windows 7 bootloader interfering?

1) Boot-132 is annoyingly hard to work and if you are having issues getting stuff like iPC to boot dont go that way.

2) My suggestion if you want retail Vanilla OSX

-Partition disk as GUID

-Make Mac/Win7 partition (personally I have Mac/Windows7/Data in that order on my disk)

-Break up the Mac partition into 2 parts

-Install iPC/iDeneb... onto 2nd part and use that to install Vanilla OSX onto your 1 Mac partition

-This gives you the flexibility to test out various kexts/kernels at ease, rather than mucking about in Single-User.

-Once your done merge the 2nd Mac partition with the first one and enjoy.

Hmm, according to BCDEdit.exe, K:\ (my backup HDD) is where Windows decided to put the "Windows Boot Manager" which probably interferes with anything else. Why did it do that?

Different topic here.... :P

Just give a try... the goal is you can install Mac Retail First.. and then experiment to the next level :)

U.C: If I do that will it be as good as retail? I can do updates and all?

And I think I figured out the problem and it has to do with my computer's wiring of all things. Since my Backup HDD is on a "higher" SATA port, it comes "first" and so, thats where windows put its bootloader. OS X put ITS bootloader on the OTHER HDD, (which is my windows drive) but since the first one gets accessed, well, first, then it wouldnt matter since Windows Bootloader is on my other hard drive.

Wow.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

yup this other method simple and try error for your kext

maybe this the basic on your /Extra Folder

AppleDecrypt.kext

NullCPUPowermanagement.kext

AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext

ApplePS2Controller.kext (or VoodooPS2.kext)

maybe help you

boot with your hackintosh distro or mac

Find somewhere Change Finder or MacTuneUP help you to view hidden file/folder

mount your Retail..

/(DVD or gdm)/System/Library/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg (Click that !! up running)

Install to your HDD or Partition

(if MBR partition you patch it first or you can download from here)

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?joiedqiqtiw

that from mac retail 10.5.6 OSInstall.mpkg -- just replace with this one

after finishing your install

update 10.5.7

Mount your MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.7.dmg

Run the .pkg file and install to your partition (mac retail installed)

Finishing...

Install Chameleon to your Retail HDD/Partition

and Add your kext to /Extra folder and repair permission

for most case Sound & VGA sould install on /S/L/E folder <do it if necessary> :P

restart and boot your retail install hdd/partition and hoping the best !!! :)
