vinayp
I was able to install 10.4.6 on my MSI 1057 notebook relatively easily using the HOTiSO DVD. Notebook specs are: Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83 GHz Intel 945GM Express chipset 12" WXGA Widescreen LCD 1GB DDR2-667 Memory Intel GMA950 integrated graphics (works!) Realtek ALC882 HD Audio (works!) Realtek RTL8168 Gigabit Ethernet (does not work) Intel 3945ABG 802.11 (does not work) Belkin 802.11g USB F5D7050 v. 3000 (works!) Integrated USB Bluetooth (ven:0a12, dev:0001) (works!) I followed the directions specified here: http://www.nedprod.com/Niall_stuff/MacOS%20X/index.html except for the following changes: 1. After installation finished and rebooted, the kernel hung while trying to load the AppleHDA kext. So, i had to reboot in safe mode (-x) and move AppleHDA.kext out of the Extensions folder. 2. After rebooting again, the display was all screwed up. To fix this, I rebooted again in safe mode and moved all of the AppleIntelGMA950* files out of the Extensions folder. This forced it to use the Intel915 drivers. 3. Then I fixed the audio by editing the AppleAzalia files to support my Realtek RTL8168. I couldn't get either the gigabit ethernet or the Intel 3945abg wireless card working, so I used a Belkin 802.11g USB adapter for internet access. I had to download the ralink driver to get this working. hinoky66
My problem is the firewire, NOT the ethernet, the ethernet works ok. I also have a problem with audio input (it doesn't work) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17161-1046-install-on-msi-1057-12-core-duo/#findComment-208435 Share on other sites
