However, I haven't heard of anyone having any success with SIS Chipsets. There is some support for VIA, Intel, and Nvidia chipsets but I haven't seen any for SIS. Try booting off of the DVD. If it detects your hard drive, it might work. Although performance may not be optimal because it will probably be using a Generic ATA driver. I'm guessing these questions would be better suited in the "Hardware" section. Moe Posted September 2, 2005 Share Posted September 2, 2005 The laptop works, but has many of the common issues. It's stable and fast, but due to poor hardware support, not terribly useful yet (sound is quirky, video is not using native resolution, no networking) Read the forum and the wiki for instructions. The so-called "dd method" is the fastest way of getting it going.
