Hi!

Have a strange one for everyone to take a look at!

I have an external hard drive caddy which takes IDE drives. Under Windows XP I can read & write to it (formatted to FAT32), however under OS X Leopard it shows as read only!

I have tried several different drives in the caddy all to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas why this may be happening! Have tried multiple USB ports as well!

Thanks for looking and any assistance

are you sure that isn't in NTFS? sound like ntfs effects

Defintely sure it's not. Have formatted the drives several times all to FAT32! If I go into the Disk Utility it doesn't show any partitions and says it's read only!

try to format with mac and then try in windows if get read/write

daveta: Have tried to format with the 'mac' however the disk shows as read only and I am unable to do anything with it. I've even loaded up DiskWarrior and the drive is not even recognized!

Might have to try another drive caddy or something! :(
