atothek
Can someone walk me through step by step on how to load OS X 10.5.x on my Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L (F08 BIOS) system using Retail DVD? I have run Kalyway, iDeneb, and iPC with good success, but I would prefer not to have to run third-party kernels, combo updates, etc. I have tried these Boot-132 disks: http://www.mediafire.com/?uwd9dtttjfk Also, the Original Boot-132 (generic.iso) I found on a post. The Boot-132 disks boot fine to the boot prompt. I pressed a command (not -v but something else...can't remember) and then when I put my Retail DVD (DL copy), the machine acts like it is going to boot into the OS install and just sits there on the grey Apple screen. I know my drives are OS X compatible and the BIOS settings have worked fine on third-party OS X distros. Any ideas? (please don't say "load up boot-132 DVD, then install OS X"...I need specifics please) Nec ND-3520AW DVD Burner (3.07 firmware) Lite-On SOHD-167T DVD Reader (9S1B firmware) Pentium D 2160 (believe that's the model #) Dual Core CPU Western Digital 80GB boot drive Samsung 750GB data drive 4GB G-Skill RAM Western Digital 500GB USB drive Multiple USB 2.0 peripherals plugged in during boot Logitech Bluetooth DiNovo USB keyboard and mouse MSI NVidia Video (8400GS) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171279-gigabyte-ga-g31m-s2l-boot-132-retail-dvd/ Share on other sites
