Knifa Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Okay, to be brutually honest, this forum and everything in it is a complete cluster{censored}. I cannot possibly comprehend how any of you can easily extract information out of any of the threads. Why you cannot use the wiki for posting guides and things I will never understand. But that is another argument and I respect the effort you have all made because it's goddamn fantastic. So what I would like to know is what kexts need to be replaced/deleted and why and what has changed. I can find utterly no information on the subject. There is nothing. Zero. Nor can I find the origins of such replacements. Yes, they are in a bunch of packs as attachments in a bunch of completely unrelated threads without any information in post about what they are or where they came from. They do install fine and everything works fantastically but I'd still like to know what the christ is going on. This is my biggest issue with the entirety of the whole Hackintosh thing. It's a mess. I can't find information on anything specific, and this forum appears to be the only real place to find that. Despite there being a wiki - an excellent place to put all of these things - every bit of useful info is posted in wee bits of threads, making a pain in the arse. Everyone has made a great effort, I just wish you guys wrote it down in a less {censored} manner so when someone comes along to try it out, they arn't overwhelmed by infinte amounts of guides and things that are completely unexplained. It's not even a question of their skill level either. I hope you understand I'm not condemning your efforts, as it's completely great and I think it's great that it's gone so well, just the complete lack of information and terrible presentation of what little there is saddens me. Good god, I may have deviated a bit from my original question there. Anyone who can explain the whole kext thing to me would be fantastic. I understand what they are, I just don't really know what's to be replaced and why. I've had several successful installs using them before but it's bugging me that I can't find any information on it. And I'll add it to the goddamn wiki, where it should be, along with everyone else. Thanks. <3~ oh god don't hurt me. Look, that forum doesn't even show up when you Google anything even vaguely related to OSX86. It also doesn't escape the fact that it should be either somewhere useful, stickied, on this forum or more importantly, on the wiki. But yes, thanks!
