ryansimms
I really like how Apple's displays have only one cable going from the display to the cpu. Does anyone know of a cable that has been made like this for other monitors? I'd love to have one cable that carries power, dvi, and usb with tails on either end. noNix
I think that this (F6N braided spiral wrap) is what you are looking for. Available in a bunch of colors. There are links to retailers at the top of the page. Be warned, it is not cheep, and not all retailers offer all the sizes and colors available. When you cut it, you have to use a hot knife or the ends will unravel. dailyKaos
If you do go that route, we used to use that stuff to mod PC internals, and its the same stuff used on modular PSUs, if not hot knife, cut it with some scissors or other, and take a lighter and melt it together, same affect.. Although I haven't heard of anyone making a SINGLE cable, because of the many different options available between monitors and computers.. so if tidiness is needed.. I would go the route of just wrapping them. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/171217-all-in-one-monitor-cable/#findComment-1181485 Share on other sites
ryansimms
hmm, maybe I'll just make my own. Perhaps I could get a DVI-I dual link cable and patch usb and power (dc, after the power brick) into the extra wires that would carry the unused analog and dual link info. Anybody know where I could get a DVI-I dual link cable that has an end connector that is openable as opposed to molded plastic? Part of the reason that I want one cable as opposed to wrapping the bundle is because I'm cutting a hole in an antique desk and I'd like the hole to be as small as possible.
