spinner2727 Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Hey, Are the FN keys on a laptop supposed to be recognized by OS X? I'm running a retail 10.5.7 installation on my Asus G1S laptop, and i'm using VoodooPS2Controller to get my keyboard and trackpad to work. However, on my keyboard the volume keys are FN + F11 for volume down and FN + F12 for volume up. I was hoping I could use something like Ukelele or ControllerMate to remap those functions to those keys, but in Ukelele pressing the FN key plus any other key doesn't yield any kind of keycode. How do FN keys work, and is there a way I can make them work? Thanks for the help. ludacrisvp Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 They seem to work on some laptops. They dont really work on mine all too well I just have mute and sleep that work. The brightness and media controls do not function on my laptop. Or is it something that's limited by the BIOS? Cause my brightness and bluetooth disable keys work, but not through OSX; i.e. it's hardware controlled.
