christina Posted June 15, 2009 Share Posted June 15, 2009 10.5.7 Update installation has resulted in inability to use SMBIOS Injection (such as Chamalleon SMBIOS Injection) My computer model has changed from "MacPro3,1" to "Mac" I really need to be able to change the computer model Even using custom SMBIOS Kext doesnt help it Any ideas how to fix it? Also my System Profiler doesn't display hardware information anymore. Beerkex'd Posted June 28, 2009 Share Posted June 28, 2009 Read about what SMBIOS is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMBIOS Also read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_Management_Interface For better compatibility and also for cosmetic reasons, we can use SMBIOS injection on a PC running OSX to make it appear to the OS and the software that we install and run on it as if the OS was running on a real Mac computer. It will not make your computer faster or make you more popular with the chicks.
