m9c0sx
Hi everyone, It is been few days now of trial and errors and I'm just about to give up. I tried lastexile pkg as well as the x2000 source version 53410 pkg and I had no luck. I get either garbled or black screen as if no signal to monitor. I tried adding EFI string in boot plist and it identifies my card but no QE/CI I also tried just loading the NATIT.kext and I get the same thing with no QE/CI. I also tried solutions I found from other post but still no luck. user01100
QUOTE(LastHylian @ Apr 4 2009, 02:43 AM) Can someone please direct me to a source that solves the black and white squares problem? I have the ATi Radeon HD 3650 0x9598 (not sure if it is the mobility or not. The device ID tells me it is the HD 3650, but lspci tells me it is the mobility.) Use this HD3650 fixed (PCIe - not mobility) http://rapidshare.com/files/155214346/ATI_...10.5.5.zip.html Step 1: Safe Mode login (-x) Clear all driver from System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntel* System/Library/Extensions/ATI* System/Library/Extensions/NVD* and Delete file: System/Libraty/Extensions.mkext When you delete all file in step 1, you can't login normal. Step 2: Install driver HD3650 fix with Safe Mode. Restart. Hope work full. If can't login in normal mode. Please install driver mobo again. Ex: My HD3650 (sapphire) work now! DVI output with Dell 2407wfp 1920x1200p good. Try this and report... Don't give up... Followed everything and still same problem where on boot I get a black screen (no signal to monitor) All the 3 pkg I tried behaved the same if I install the NATIT.kext alone. It successfully identifed my card as a ATI 3650 although it is showing 256MB instead of 512MB. No CI/QE It appears the problem is when the ATINDRV.kext,ATIRNDRV.kext, ATIRadeonX2000.kext,ATIRadeonX2000GA etc is installed. Are these ATI* drivers provide the hardware acceleration? user01100
Okay...lets take it from top... 1. Reboot- go Safe mode- repeat first post...delete ati drivers...and intel and nvidia...(just to be sure...)... 2. Go to Utilities- Directory Utility- Edit- (up on bar...!!!)- Enable Root User... 3. Logout- Other- type root- (password if you set one...)... 4. Go on web- Install Pacifist... 5. Install 'driver' from first post with Pacifist...NOT...!!! with its own installer...(replace all...when asked...)... 6. Disk Utility- Repair Permissions- Reboot... P.S.: you could do this on a fresh install if you have time...selecting nothing ('driver') for your video card on install...and using also this distro...(my favourite XxX_x86_10.5.6_Install_Disc_Universal_Final (SSE2.SSE3.AMD.Intel)...)...or your iPC...if you prefer... Report back...results... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/170825-help-with-his-ati-hd-3650/#findComment-1179659 Share on other sites

All I need is to plug my monitor to DVI port 2. User_01 thanks so much for your help. I'm almost about to give up.
