Jaw3000 Posted June 15, 2009 Share Posted June 15, 2009 I had sound working perfectly for me prior to updating to 10.5.7 from 10.5.6 on my Gigabyte ga-g33m-ds2r with ALC889A. After the update, sound didn't work, so I reinstalled the old working AppleHDA 1.6.8 and HDAEnabler from my 10.5.6 installation, and some sound returned. This is the odd part - I have perfect sound in the Finder (moving files, erasing files, etc.), but not in other applications. Quicktime, Safari flash, VLC, iTunes have no sound. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this, or perhaps know of a working driver for 10.5.7? Thanks! Update: I just tried the 10.5.7 AppleHDA and HDAEnabler from this post http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=140941, and sound still works in the Finder but not in any other application.
