Flor
Hi guys. I am starting to BEG for help, something I never do. But I don't want to kill my illusion of programming for the iPhone, without having to spend too much in a Mac. I probably have tried a wide array of things, with no luck. - First I tried iAtkos 5i. Booted the CD, everything worked fine. Until in the middle of the installation I was asked to restart, which I did, and after rebooting, I received a message saying that com.apple.Boot.plist couldn't be found. It happened the 5 times I tried to install it. - Then I waited one week to fully download iDeneb 1.3 (instead of 1.4, as the torrent was kinda slow). The result? A "Not Allowed" symbol. Even after patching the ISO I receive the exact same thing. Can't boot that DVD to the installer. - Now I am trying iAtkos again, and for some reason I can install it now, but all sort of things happen. -- Sometimes I install it well (I learned to choose some options like kernels and such), but after rebooting, I just see the Apple Logo screen, stuck there, nothing moves. I boot with the -V flag, and it freezes in the "Skipping duplicate extension "com.apple.iokit.IOATAPIProtocolTransport" with older/same version (1.5.0 -> 9.9.9)." message. -- I receive an error message saying "You need to restart your computer. Hold Down the Power button for several seconds or press the Restart button.". I restart a myriad of times, with no luck. My hardware specs are: - MOTHERBOARD: Intel DP43TF - PROCESSOR: Intel Core 2 Duo - GRAPHICS CARD: nVidia 8500 GT 512 MBs <- Almost sure this is the problem. - RAM: Running with 2 GBs of RAM, but I have other 4 GBs that I will use later. - 1TB Harddisk. Any help will be highly appreciated! Probably someone that has experience with a similar setup as mine can help, I really need help when I have to touch the "Customize" part. Azimutz
Hi.. i'm maybe able to help. I don't have a similar setup but, as far as i've read it's doable. I just don't know iAtkos (don't use distros for a long time now) and have no Nvidia experience. Nvidea is very well supported but, some cards can be problematic.. don't know if it's the case with yours. Pm me and i'll give you some clues Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/170685-please-help-me-install-iatkos-5i-on-this-pc/#findComment-1177187 Share on other sites
Flor
First of all, I want to thank Azimutz for dealing with me and having a lot of patience, though unfortunately, it never worked >.<. I still am in the process of getting a retail CD, so while I see about that, I decided to revive my topic to ask again. Anyone can help selecting the kernels? Is it true that I can install without a kernel and that will install Vanilla as default? And would that be good? I just ran out of ideas >.<.
