I am trying to get wireless working on my Acer Aspire One using the Dell 1390 wireless card. I first put the card in before I installed OSX. I could not get it working under Windows XP. I even did a clean install on XP and installed the drivers and couldn't get it working. Windows recognized the card but device manager kept saying it couldn't start the card (Code 10). I booted into Windows 7 on accident and played with it for a minute, but had the same results. At this point I figured I was probably dealing with hardware failure.

I installed Backtrack 3 and OSX in a dual boot config with grub and PC-EFI for OSX. I first used kalyway 10.5.2 and the card was not recognized. I got kernel panics when trying to upgrade, so I went with iDeneb v1.4 (Leopard 10.5.6) and it installed and works fine, but the card is not even recognized as being in there. The card works fine in backtrack 3 however, so I know at least it's not hardware failure, just a driver issue. After installing iDeneb I even opened the computer back up and reseated the card to make sure it was in securely. I also cleaned the contacts just to cover all my bases. (The card says © Apple Computer 2006 on it, which I found interesting) This has been very frustrating since I see so many people that say Leopard recognizes the card right away for them. I downloaded chun nan's IOPCMCIAFamily.kext as suggested on one site I had run across (Link: http://www.mediafire.com/chunnan I used the one in the 10.5.6 only folder) and then I couldn't boot OSX anymore, not even to single user mode, so I reinstalled and OSX is running again, but with no wireless. I am at the end of my rope on ideas here. I have spent hours of googling and testing with no results. Anybody out there have any tips or tricks to get this sucker working?
