kostas_gr
After a long wait and search for the ultimate hackintosh for my system I ended download iPC 10.5.6 So here are the specs, and here are the solutions: CPU: Intel Core DUO T9300 2.5GHZ RAM: 4GB DDR2 Video: nVidia 9500M GS Lan: Broadcom NetXtreme (5787) Wifi: Intel 4965agn Sound: Realtek ALC268 Install is straight forward, no need for hacked kernels, just install Vanilla kernel, and make sure you add the PS/2 fix for the keyboard (otherwise you will receive a nice no keyboard attached error after the installation). I also installed the timesync fix (dual boot), NVDarwin for the video card. Intel 4965 does not work and this was my only problem on previous installations, since I need a working wifi for my work and my laptop needs I ordered a Dell 1490 from ebay for just 20 euros, 4 days later it was installed on my laptop (very easy installation) and working on my hackintosh! I avoid the LAN ethernet (working with the modified AppleBCM5787) because even though it works I have witnessed a few problems while rebooting or shutting down. Using only the wifi makes the system rock solid! After installing boot the system, check if your sound is working (it should, install the Madtux and Collit package), your video card should be fine as well! Wifi works out of the box, no need for hacks or mods! :) After installing I tried the software update! and Yes! you can upgrade to 10.5.7 without any issues! Only mod needed is reinstalling the sound modified kext to get sound working again! First time boot after 10.5.7 upgrade resulted on a black screen, rebooted again and since then everything is just fine! I haven't tested the card reader (don't need to, since I don't use any memory cards that the reader supports), the webcam (never used it). Bluetooth is also working out of the box So this pretty much makes the Acer Aspire 7720G a near to perfect Macbook pro cheap replacement!
