Well I have an altered Acer:

Acer Aspire 3680

Intel Core 2 T5500 1.66/1.67Ghz

2gb Ram

160gb HD / 15gb(internal flash)

Intel 950 gma

I used for OS X installation: iAtkos 5i

Settings:

iatkos v5i main system

chameleon

apple decrypt

smBios EFI

kernel TOH

disabler.kext

x86 acpi

gma 950 a

speedstep a

laptop battery

ntfs 3g

(No network device, since tested each, none was detected)

*Used a USB Netgear WG111v2 (Works after installing driver from google search: wg111v2 mac drivers )

Everything Works: Audio (speaker, mic, headphones), cpu speed reading, wifi(netgear usb), usb devices, bluetooth, keyboard, mouse, sleep, on/off shutdown

I have to boot: cpus=1 for it to start up :D

Not Working: Battery is not displayed, even after chosen it upon installation

My Question:

Is there any way to fix this tiny issue to get a display for my battery meter?

Totally happy, how it runs on my laptop even managed to install Adobe CS4 Master Collection (Runs perfectly). Also I'm not planning to upgrade this OS Software I want to keep it at 10.5.5, that said I'm happy with my current configurations. If there is a fix for my battery meter, sure that would an Extra + =)

The Laptop Has Triple boot: Windows 7 (7127) / OSX 10.5.5 / Ubuntu 8.10

I'm guessing you are only getting this problem under your hackintosh OSX boot-up, yes? It usually has to do with issues reading from the ACPI and SMBus to get readings from things. So something to get your build looking and reading the right spots for getting your laptop battery. If you also can't get it to read under Windows 7, you might need to check for a BIOS update, or you could try posting that one to the official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located here:

Fixing it in one may fix it in the other. However, it does sound like a driver/lookup issue for finding value of the current battery charge.

It's only OS X that does not display my Battery

On this Machine the Battery *IT DOES* display on: Windows 7 Ultimate x64(build 7000 / 7127), Windows Vista x64 Ultimate, Linux (Ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 8.10, Ubuntu 9.04, Mint7)

You assumed wrongly

So what other clue might you have ONLY DEPENDING on Mac OS X, even though if there are drivers for Mac of this computer for the battery trust I have no clue where to find that.

Anyways, just randomly today, decided to format my OS X 10.5.5 ... to try and install for able to do Upgrade:

Choosed this Time:

iatkos v5i main system

EFI

apple decrypt

smBios EFI Mac air

kernel TOH

disabler.kext

x86 acpi

gma 950 b

speedstep a

laptop battery

ntfs 3g

*I think there were other things i chose but I can't remember.. :D

And it all went smoothly the install & running 10.5.5... so installed the Wifi USB driver, to execute the Software Updates so that I could Upgrade to 10.5.7

After 45 minutes it went all through, Restarted booted as usual: cpus=1

All good perfectly (almost exactly the same).. but with 2 issues

No idea how or why... USB devices works *Only as Flash Drives or External Hard Drive

But it does not work for the Wireless USB, iPhone USB, Internal Bluetooth(I really don't care about Bluetooh.. so I can forget about it) ... they seem not detectable

I did test to Uninstall command the Wireless USB driver & reinstalled Rebooted, and still stayed the same *Un Detectable

So I just need a fix for the USB Devices for it can again detect iPhone USB & Wireless USB

Before Upgrading, I backed up the whole folders of:

~/System/Library/Extensions

~/System/Library/SystemConfigurations

And 10.5.7 automatically made me a back up of:

~Library/Backups/

AppleSMBIOS.kext

System.kext

I also have installed: Kext Helper b7

Can any of these things that I managed to backup from 10.5.5 help me out for the USB Devices for 10.5.7?

Thanks

I have a very similar setup the Acer 3680 with same core 2 processor.

I had iatkos I believe was v1 working with the old processor but when I upgraded to the core 2 the boot would get stuck at the apple load up window.  So then I deleted and tried to install v1 again and the disc would freeze at apple screen too.  So now I have v7 and it appears it almost stops at apple screen but if I leave it alone for like 30 minutes, the little gear thing appears and starts loading but then it just goes to a black screen and stops there.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks.
