Hello,

I've found many a very simple how-to guide for installing OSx86. However, these all seem to deal with Kalyway, or iPC, and the like.

I'd like to try something new (Kalyway wasn't my way). I've found several guides for vanilla installations, and such, but they are all a bit complicated to follow for someone as noobish as myself.

Is there an up-to-date guide for an installation from a retail DVD, including information about getting graphics, networking, and sound working in the most up-to-date fashion? I don't care if it takes forever, as long as it works, and doesn't crash on me.

I'm not expecting one guide, maybe a collection?

Thanks!

PS - Learning about EFI stuff would be nice. I've read plenty of stuff on them, but it all went over my head.
