Tiburon
Howdy I've tried installing OSX86 before and I ran into problems with my graphics card and mobo; I figured I would try again. Unfortunately there are so many releases available, I don't know which one to get. Does anyone have a suggestion for a release that would work with the following hardware: EVGA 780i Motherboard Using nForce SATA 8GB Ram (I think this gave me a problem last time too, I had random lockups unless I disabled parts of it) 2 EVGA GTX 285's (I don't care about SLI support, I just want atleast one card able to be accelerated. I heard there were new drivers uploaded that support the GT200 chip) Any help would be really appreciated (there are so many different releases out there) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169902-which-release-to-use/ Share on other sites
marian99us
having tried almost all the distros out there, does give me a feeling that i really understand them! but i am wrong! having said that, i think you should try iDeneb, if your system runs vanilla fine! (and i think it should!) and if you have vanilla, you have 10.5.7 no prob! and things turn out to be pretty smooth once you keep up with apple with just a click without having to download and burn and reinstall every single time apple plays around (no offense to apple of course!) having tried almost all the distros out there, does give me a feeling that i really understand them!but i am wrong! having said that, i think you should try iDeneb, if your system runs vanilla fine! Tiburon
Is using 8GB of ram still a problem these days? I remember in the past I had to maxmem=2048 otherwise it would lock up.
