87vert
Okay got a Lenovo X60 running OS-X 10.5.7 using a Cisco PCMCIA wireless card that uses the Atheros AR5001. After installing the PCMCIA drivers the card is detected and shows the drivers are installed. (Installed drivers using OSX86Tools). Everything looks okay but "Airport" will not turn on. Can't start it from the status bar or from the System Preferences screen. When I go to advanced it shows the MAC address of the card as the Airport ID. Any ideas? More info incase it is needed. Under system profiler: Airport card: Type: AirPort Extreme Locale: Unknown Firmware: 0.1.12 Current Network: AirPort is currently turned off. Under PCI Cards: It lists 3 that say network : two types are Ethernet Controller and both have the drivers installed. The other says "other network controller" and the driver is not installed. The status light on the card blinks green about every 5 seconds.
