d harrison
Greetings, I would like to install Kalway on a second partition on my Compaq Presario A900 just to see how I like the OS. As advised in these forums, I only want use this to check out OSX before I drop the money on a legit copy (only fair I say). However, I would like to be able to have my system continue booting up in Windows Vista by default so I can use my computer like I normally do, and have a way to select OSX only when I want to. I was thinking that if I can set it up so that my Windows partition is active it should do this. Correct? Then when I turn the computer on, unless I press "F8" immediately after the Bios, it should go directly to Windows. Otherwise, I get to choose which OS to boot into. Correct? Can anyone offer confirmation, suggestions or details about how I can resolve this? Thanks, Daryl Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/169601-install-osx-but-startup-in-vista-by-default/ Share on other sites
hh5725
I'm looking to figure out this problem too. I just got osx86 to install properly with Darwin bootloader as default installed but it seems to boot into mac by default all the time. How can I change it so that it goes straight to vista (my native OS)?
