xc70
I'm not expert in osx86 but I've read many forums and I choose i7 920 + Gigabyte X58-UD5 and Leopard install retail. Although I don't know what graphics card is better for my freelance work. I'm a graphic designer and work at home (afternoon/evening) with CS4 (90%) and a little on video with Final Cut Pro and After Effects (10%). But I'll start Interiorism studyies in September and I'll work with Autocad and 3DS Max too. I don't use my Hack Pro for games so I think it's bad idea buy the best graphics card (ex. GTX 9xx) for waste my money. In my work (morning) we've a Mac Pros 2x3 GHz with a ridiculous nVidia GeForce 7300GT with 256MB and we work with CS4 without problems. The noise is more important for me, I'll buy a silent graphics card, a Mac Pro is a great example for a quiet machine. I found these best prices (VAT includes) in my country: Point of View GeForce 8800GT 1GB GDDR3 + Game: 70 euros XFX GeForce 9600 GT 512MB DDR3: 73 euros Zotac GeForce 9800 GTX+ AMP! 512MB GDDR3 + Game: 109 euros XFX GeForce GTS 250 512MB GDDR3: 118 euros or this ATI options: Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 1GB GDDR3: 109 euros My questions: 1. What compatible osx86 graphics card I'll buy for graphic design? 2. What option are better compatibility? nVidia or ATI? 3. What manufacturer are better (price/efficiency)? I like EVGA and XFX. 4. What option are better for the next Snow Leopard compatibility? Any advice? Thanks in advance.
